That Red House Organic Soapberries are a natural and zero-waste way to do your laundry and household cleaning. Soapberries, also known as soapnuts, are the fruit harvested from the Sapindus Mukurossi tree, the seed is removed and the shell sun-dried leaving a soapberry that is full of saponins which is a natural soap. The saponin effectively lowers water's surface tension, enabling the removal of dirt and leaving fabrics feeling soft and thoroughly clean.

Direction: Simply add 5 whole shells to the small wash bag provided, and place in the wash with your clothes. If you would like fragrance, add 4-5 drops of 100% pure Laundry Tonic and place it in the wash. After around 5 loads of washing, the soapberries can be added to the compost or garden to break down naturally.

Handy hint - The saponins are released from the berries more effectively in hot water. For a faster release, use a warm wash setting, or soak your small bag of soapberries in hot water for 5 minutes, before throwing them in the washing machine to do their jobPackaging: 100% plastic-free packaging, place in your recycling bin or home compost.
