The seed is removed, and the shell is sun-dried, leaving a soapberry that is full of saponins, which are natural soaps. The saponin effectively lowers water's surface tension, enabling the removal of dirt and leaving fabrics feeling soft and thoroughly clean.

How to Use: Simply add 5 whole shells to the small wash bag provided, and place in the wash with your clothes. If you'd like fragrance, add 4-5 drops of 100% pure Laundry Tonic and put it in the wash. After around 5 loads of washing, the soapberries can be added to the compost or garden to break down naturally.
Handy hint - The saponins are released from the berries more effectively in hot water. For a faster release, use a warm wash setting or soak your small bag of soapberries in hot water for 5 minutes before adding them to the washing machine to do their job.
